Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This website (www.eurusadvisers.com) is operated by Eurus Advisers Ltd ("Eurus", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11948638, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.
Eurus Advisers Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZB119770.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal data, contact us at contact@eurusadvisers.com.
2. Scope of this policy - an important distinction
This policy covers personal data we collect through this website - for example when you contact us, request a demo, or browse the site.
It does not cover data processed inside the maikl.ai platform on behalf of a law firm or organisation that uses maikl.ai. Where a firm or organisation loads its own confidential information and client data into maikl.ai, that firm or organisation is the data controller for that data, and Eurus acts as a data processor under a separate data processing agreement. The handling of that data is governed by that agreement and the firm's own privacy notice, not by this website policy.
3. The personal data we collect
Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect:
- Contact and enquiry data - your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, role, and the content of any message you send us through a contact form, demo request, or by email.
- Technical data - IP address, browser type and version, device information, operating system, and referring website. This is recorded automatically in the server logs kept by our hosting provider for security and to keep the site running. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics, so we do not build usage profiles or track you across sites.
- Marketing preferences - where you opt in to receive updates or communications from us.
We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health, ethnicity, or political opinions) through this website, and we ask that you do not submit it through our contact forms.
4. How and why we use your personal data
We use your personal data on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry or demo request | Contact and enquiry data | Legitimate interests (responding to you) / steps prior to entering a contract |
| Operating and securing the website | Technical data (server logs) | Legitimate interests (running a safe, functional website) |
| Sending you marketing communications | Contact data, preferences | Consent (or legitimate interests / soft opt-in for existing business contacts, where applicable) |
| Complying with legal and regulatory obligations | As relevant | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests are not overridden by your rights. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
5. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics). We do not profile visitors or track you across other websites. Because we set no non-essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). See our Cookie Policy for full details.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Service providers and processors who help us operate the website and our business - for example website hosting and email providers. These act on our instructions under contract. Our current key providers are Vercel (website hosting) and Squarespace (domain and email).
- SteelRose Legal or other professional advisers, where relevant to responding to an enquiry and where appropriate to do so.
- Regulators, law enforcement, or other authorities where we are required to by law.
- Successors in the event of a business reorganisation, merger, or acquisition.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Vercel and Squarespace) are based in the United States, so personal data may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place - such as the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment where required.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above:
- Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Contacts within an active or prospective business relationship: for the duration of that relationship and a reasonable period afterwards.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased in certain circumstances; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have rights in relation to automated decision-making, though we do not carry out solely automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects through this website.
To exercise any right, contact contact@eurusadvisers.com. We will respond within one month.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the ICO: ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and secure hosting. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified on this page.
